Hi Everyone!
There were a few thank
you's that were forgotten... Thanks to Brian Jones, Andy Gullen, &
the driver from YRB who hauled the fill for the fields on the day
that the weather was less than cooperative. Nerves of steel! To
all the volunteers that came to work so hard at all our work
parties to help build what we have. You are all amazing! To all
our executive (past & present), you guys rock! Thanks for being so
fabulous!
We really have a great
league with amazing people and I hope it continues for many, many
seasons!!!! Have a great summer!
Cheers to you all!
Kathy :)
June 23rd Hey Guys! I
have the money counted from last night and we made $535.00 (only
465.00 last time). I think Finley's did a good job. The burgers
were freshly BBQ'ed & the Name That Tune game was great!!! It kept
everyone laughing! Tanya gave me back all the tickets she
had plus I have the ones that RJ gave me last night.
Cheers, Kathy
June 9th We are having another
Beer and Burger nite at
Finley's this time on the
20th of June. It will start at
6pm and run till it is over. We made 465.00 last time. and we
did have a great time!!! Remember this is a fund raiser for our
league and a very easy one at that! We get have of all the tickets
sold so even if you can't come sell your tickets to friends or
invite friends or just buy the tickets as you are contributing in
all the above ways to our league. Tickets are the same price $10 and
will be handed out soon. Also we have cancelled the dance for this
year, but will still try to get something going for the Friday or
Saturday night..
Hello Everyone!
It is with great pleasure that
I announce the date of our AGM!!!! As per usual we expect a
representative or 2 from each team (does not need to be your team
captain, but it can be a player from your team....) Thanks Everyone
& we'll see you on the 21st!! Cheers,Kathy
NOVEMBER
21, 2007
7-9 pm
Nelson Rec
Centre, Multi-Purpose Room
It is with sadness that I have to announce that Susan Burguyone has
decided to resign as Vice President. She did quite a lot of work
over the years. Most of it behind the scenes and a lot that was
thankless. So now we say, for your years of work to our ball league,
thank you .
We will be looking for a new one and accepting any and all nominations.
This is an important spot and the majority of the job is at the
start of the year meeting with the district. Also, you need to set
costs for the league fees and book fields for the league. The last
part was our schedule and I am hoping to have some one take it over.
blessings and thanks Suzie!!! RJ
Cam and Corrine have announced that they will be back next year with
the food cart. They will update their selection to include more
breakfast foods and also said that this year they raised almost
946.00$
For the Caitlyn Memorial fund.....I am pleased to announce that at
the end of regular season we had raised $453.19, with an additional
$114.91 from playoffs and more member donations of $35.49 for a
grand total to date of $603.64.
Many thanks to all
Jack
July ---Yeesshhhh we have completed our fields and the as the cost
was a bit higher than the original idea... guess what the Credit
Union has upped their grant to us to a cool $7300. Wow and where do
we get the best support in town???? YES so we give them a
big thank you!!!!!
June 11th 2007 Starting Wed June13th the new drag
will be operational. Your league key for the bases box will
unlock it. It will take one person from each team to do the field. I
did the field in about 12 minutes in a trial run. The home team will
do it after the game. It only takes one person and please do not
go over the lines on the base paths. The drag must be rolled up
after usage so that it doesn't get wrecked or damaged by the mower.
These are our fields and it is a step forward to start to care for
them more.
June 11th Also we can announce that the Nelson and District Credit
Union has given us 5000.00$ to finish the backstops and possibly add
some low fences down the 1st and 3rd base side of the fields. As of
the 7th of June our account was moved to the
new home at the Nelson and District Credit Union!!!! Watch for the
photo and the work that we hope will begin in late June.

OLD BUSINESS:
Kathy: Dance not a big
money make last year - $760; should we alternate
between to venues; Golf Course/Curling Club?
Katherine: music was not great; improvement needed
Vince V: volume of music was too loud; thought
that this is a chance for the
teams to get together somewhere and socialize.
Vito: what about a beer
garden @ Lakeside?
RJ: Where do we want the
dance – Curling Club? – Can turn the
volume down.
Kathy: what about other
fundraisers? Scratch/pull tabs. More onus on the
teams to participate; funds to be used for field improvement or
possibly a new field
Al Kraus: what’s the point? What’s the
issue? $700 is $700; it’s money we
didn’t have before. Switch the social to Friday night.
Katherine: what about a different weekend?
Say the Weekend before
playoffs?
Val: You can handout
trophies at the function.
AK: Friday night?
RJ: weekend before?
KC: find a date/time that
is reasonably successful:
Weekend before?
Friday night?

Thursday; play Friday/Saturday only as we’re now
getting into peoples summer vacation.

drag; it’s supposed to be at Lakeside
League to create a rental agreement
